A Simple Way to Build Traffic For Your Website

Building traffic is one of the hardest things about having a website. Regardless of how great, innovative or pretty your website is, if you do not have traffic it is not worth much. In the past, I have spent a lot of time and money reading e-books, blogs, and articles on the topic of traffic building. The biggest problem I have faced is that although many of the techniques might be truthful, they only give minimal results for the time you invest into them.

Realistically, if the return is minimal then you are probably spinning your wheels. It has been predicted that you need 20,000 to 30,000 targeted unique visitors per month to be able to live off of your online income. If you are not getting that kind of traffic, you probably are not making much money.

The question is how do you get that kind of traffic? One of the biggest secrets to success is setting up an affiliate program for your company. Think about it, you yourself are probably having minimal success marketing your business on your own. However, if you give a chunk of your profit to people marketing your company for you, then you are profiting much more in the long run.

This same concept applies to every brick and mortar company who sells a product at Wal-mart. Wal-mart consistently asks manufacturers to lower prices, and they are willing to do it because they know that Wal-mart can seriously market their company for them. The end result for the manufacturer is that sales should skyrocket.

Affiliate programs work exactly the same way. You spend time providing a great service or product and you allow others to do the work of selling your product for you. The end result may be lower profits per sale, but a much larger volume of sales through having a bigger marketing force to advertise on your behalf. You are getting more traffic, and more traffic means more sales.
