Targeted Traffic and Backlinks, Why Should I Care?

Backlinks are one of the best ways to get targeted traffic to your website. For starters, it helps your SEO efforts by boosting your page rank. Secondly, if done properly, these Backlinks will provide incoming visitors that want what you have to offer.

Basically, if you have a Website then you need visitors. Backlinks are a wonderful way to get them. A Backlink is nothing more than your link somewhere on the Internet just sitting there waiting for someone to click through to your site.

Obviously, the more, the better!

If you have a 3 foot x 3 foot sign that says "car for sale" and hold it up in your front yard, not a lot of people are going to see that you have your car for sale.

You might think that holding a 3x3 sign up in your front yard is not a great way to advertise your car for sale, right?

Actually it's not such a bad way at all. It would generate curiosity and interest from those who did see it. The problem is "who is going to see it"?

Well, What if... you tell 5,000 people to hold a similar sign in their front yard as well, and each of them has your phone number? You have a better chance of selling your car, don't you?

What if you have 50,000 people doing that... you get the idea, the more, the better.

This is the same concept of inbound links. On its own, one is not that big of a deal. As a matter of fact, it's all but useless. But thousands of them ARE a big deal.

Getting Inbound links! will also help with optimizing your website for search engines. That is important because a link from them is like a Billboard on the Interstate.

How does this tie in with Targeted Traffic?

Well, usually your inbound link is part of a description of your site. So if people find the description interesting, they will click on your link. They are now INTERESTED in what your site has to offer. This makes them "Targeted Traffic" instead of just Traffic.

I won't bore you with too many details, but... Inbound links are the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Everybody who has a website online is looking for them. Only, this pot of gold gets bigger and bigger one Inbound link at a time.
