Traffic Exchange Hits, From Low Quality Untargeted Traffic To Laser Targeted Leads And Sales

Traffic exchanges are a great source of free easy traffic for your website, however, the hits most traffic exchanges produce are not very targeted and of low quality for the most part. I am going to tell you how to change that, by showing you how to turn your blah traffic exchange traffic into ultra targeted leads for your business.

Traffic exchanges are sites that you can join and surf other peoples pages using their "surfbar" while earning credits to show your own pages. The very nature of these sites and how they work makes the traffic low quality, unless you use them properly. People come to these exchanges to get exposure for their site, the same reason you use them, right? This means that everyone seeing your site in the traffic exchanges are mainly looking for ways to get more traffic to their sites. Now if you are promoting some auto-generated affiliate page selling exercise videos in the traffic exchanges, chances are you will never see a sale from it. People viewing the sites in traffic exchanges are focused on only one thing, getting more traffic. They do this in 2 ways, first they surf the exchanges surfbar as fast as it will let them, which can be as fast as 7 seconds per site but most are 10 seconds plus, and second, they look for more traffic generating methods on the pages they are viewing. This gives you a unique opportunity to take advantage of these peoples mindset at that moment. You only have a few seconds to catch their attention, but if you can snag their eye with something traffic related and easy to read, chances are you will get many leads and sales out of what has mostly been considered junk traffic.

First decide what you will be promoting in the exchanges. Other traffic exchanges are widely advertised in them because of the traffic generation mindset of the members. Traffic generation ebooks also do well as long as you have an eye catching page to grab your visitors attention and make them stop hitting "next" on the surfbar for a minute. Free traffic related reports and ebooks do very well, remember these people are looking for free traffic, or they wouldn't be there. I wouldn't start by trying to sell a traffic related product on the exchanges themselves, people like free, and free turns prospects into loyal customers later on. I would start with a simple squeeze page offering a free traffic related product in turn for joining your mailing list. It needs to have a catchy slogan, some easy to read benefits of the product, an image of the product, and your mailing list contact form. If you don't know how to make a squeeze page, Google it, there are some great resources and templates for creating squeeze pages, many are free. Also if you don't have a free traffic related product to give away, look around, they are everywhere, surf the exchanges for a few minutes and you will see tons of them.

Once people are joining your list, you can then email them your sales messages for the products you are selling, remember with this crowd free traffic is king so try to offer them something related. It is not a good idea to hammer your list with sales messages every time or at all at first. You want these people to stay on your list so they will buy from you again, so it is a good idea to give them something free from time to time, and offer sound advice, discounts, valuable information, and anything else of value you can give to them. Be personal with them, let them know you are a real person just like them and you were once in their shoes. Make life easier on them and they will stay on your list earning you more profits over and over.

You can also use a squeeze page to advertise your product directly in the traffic exchanges. Don't advertise boring auto-generated affiliate pages in the traffic exchanges, everyone else is doing that and you are trying to stand out. Make a squeeze page with a catchy title, some intriguing text and a link to your affiliate page. Give them enough information to make them want to know more but not so much information that they think "i've seen it before", you want them to feel like they are getting the universe handed to them on a platter if they just click here. Ok well maybe not the universe but you get the idea. Cloak the link to your affiliate page or product page with a link cloaker, redirect service or something so your affiliate commissions won't get swiped. There are numerous resources on the web that do this.
