Traffic is the answer to all my prayers! WRONG. Let me explain. For years people have been led to believe that traffic = sales, trust me when I say that that is like throwing mud at a wall and hoping and praying that some sticks.

Yes it is true that if you throw traffic at your site, blog etc then some of it will end up making the purchase, signing up for your newsletter or whatever it is that you want them to do. But why waste your efforts creating that traffic when it can be much simpler to create 'buying' traffic?

What do I mean by 'buying' traffic? First you need to realize that the net may well be our own 'virtual' world but the simple fact is that this “traffic” is a real human being that is capable of making choices. Help them and they will help you.

The best way of the 'how to get free traffic' question is to make sure that your site is totally focused around what the person is looking for. Once you have this people friendly place, you need to concentrate on getting your free traffic there. Remember that we want to get free buying traffic and not tons of vague and useless traffic.

To do this we need to harness the power of Google. Google is God as far as getting free traffic is concerned. There was a time when we could throw together a one page site, submit it to Google and then they would open up the flood gates and send you shed loads of free traffic.

These days it's just not so easy to get free traffic from them. We need to work a little differently. You need a handful of things to get Google loving you. As soon as Google loves you it's easy to get buying traffic sent straight to your door.
